How is the final price determined?
All appointments begin with a complimentary consultation to discuss your hair goals and determine what is achievable in one or multiple sessions. The final price will depend on the desired look, the current health of your hair, its history, as well as its length and density. Transparency is key during our consultations, so you’ll always know what to expect.
Is parking available?
Yes, there is green parking available near the studio. If you’re taking public transit, it’s a 10-minute walk from Bathurst Station.
What is your cancellation policy?
Grace Period: A grace period of 15–20 minutes is allowed for all appointments. If you arrive later than this timeframe, your appointment may be canceled, and the cancellation fee will apply.
Cancellation Notice: We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Late Cancellation or No-Show Fee: Failure to provide 48 hours’ notice or missing your appointment will result in a charge of 50% of the estimated service price. This fee will be automatically charged to the card on file used at the time of booking.

Why does the salon have a different name?
Henrietta, the founder of Hair by Henny, is an independent hairstylist renting a chair at Lav Hair Studio. This means Hair by Henny operates as a business within a business.

Should I wash my hair before my appointment?
For on-the-scalp services (like gray coverage or bleach and tone), avoid washing your hair for 2–3 days before your appointment. This allows the natural oils on your scalp to offer some protection.
Additionally, we recommend avoiding drugstore shampoos and products like Tresemmé, Pantene, and Head & Shoulders, as these can affect your results. Click here for my product recommendations.

Can I bring my dog?
We love pets, but our studio has limited space, so unfortunately, we can’t accommodate dogs unless they are service animals. Please let us know in advance if you’ll need arrangements for a service dog.

Can I work during my appointment?
Absolutely! We offer complimentary water, coffee, and a selection of teas for you to enjoy. Our studio also provides free Wi-Fi, so feel free to bring your fully charged phone, iPad, or laptop to work or relax during your appointment.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, debit, and credit. Please note that e-transfers are not accepted at this time.

How long will my appointment take?
At Hair by Henny, quality takes time—perfection can’t be rushed! Appointment times vary based on your desired look, hair length, and density. Here are approximate times for our services:
• Blowdry: 45 minutes
• Root Touch-Up: 1.5 hours
• Toner: 1.5 hours
• Balayage Service:3.5–5 hours
• Solid Color Service:3–4 hours
• Bleach & Tone Service:5–7 hours
